Reidmark is delighted to announce that it has been selected as a medallist in this year’s British Computer Society (BCS) IT Professional Awards. This fantastic news was revealed on Tuesday at a Summer Party, held at the BCS Head Office in London.  It was confirmed that Reidmark, in partnership with nextstep Lancashire, were unanimously selected by the judging panel as finalists in the ‘social contribution’ category, with its IAGmanager project.

Reidmark’s Managing Director Mark Carney comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to become BCS medallists. To reach the final stages of this prestigious awards programme is a significant achievement for us.  It reflects all of the hard work that has gone into this project by both organisations. It also demonstrates the significance of listening to and understanding our customers’ needs through partnership working and a commitment to ongoing product development.”  In a nutshell, the IAGmanager system has been developed to help  organisations like nextstep in Lancashire unify the delivery of Information, Advice and     Guidance (IAG) services to adults, with a real focus on dismantling the barriers that are often present  when accessing learning and work opportunities.

Part of this project has seen the introduction of the online nextstep customer portal (visit www.nextsteplancashire.co.uk) which is the first of its kind in the UK and presents a new and exciting way for nextstep organisations to interact with       adults looking for advice on their learning and work opportunities. The portal has a wide range of tools and functions available.    For example, users can access up to date course information, build a CV, take a psychometric test and book an advice appointment at their local nextstep centre.  The system even has the capability to offer nextstep organisations the   opportunity to deliver advice sessions online, via a secure one-to-one chat room facility.

Reidmark has won a number of awards over the past few years, including one in 2004, in the coveted Information Management (IM) awards for RSLmanager, Reidmark’s internet based housing management system, developed in conjunction with Broadland Housing Association.  Mark concludes: “If Reidmark win this award, we will proudly add it to our growing collection.  We are a young, dynamic company with a real talent for developing internet based systems for  Public Sector organisations.  Having our work recognised by industry professionals is a great reward for our efforts.”

The winners of the BCS Awards 2006 will be announced later on in the year at a glitzy Awards Dinner and presentation evening, scheduled for the 7th December at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
